Inspired by the delicacy of chardonnay, Maison Ruinart has given birth to a cuvée that has become legendary: the Blanc de Blancs. Focus on this exceptional cuvée.
The origins of the mythical Ruinart Blanc de Blancs
For connoisseurs, "Ruinart" and "Blanc de Blancs" are inseparable as the House has built its reputation on the art of sublimating chardonnay. Founded in 1729, Ruinart is the oldest Champagne House and its identity has been shaped since its beginnings by this grape variety. The grapes destined for its Blanc de Blancs cuvées come from the best terroirs of the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims.
How is Ruinart Blanc de Blancs conceived?
This champagne is elaborated exclusively from chardonnays from 25 to 30 crus, mainly from the Côte des Blancs, the Montagne de Reims, the Sézannais and the Vallée de la Vesle. The grapes are hand-harvested, then vinified in thermoregulated stainless steel tanks, with alcoholic then malolactic fermentation for more roundness. The blending integrates 20 to 30% reserve wines for style consistency, then the wine ages 2 to 3 years in cellar before disgorgement and dosage.
What is the aromatic profile of this exceptional champagne?
Its golden robe with green reflections precedes an intense nose of white flowers, citrus fruits, fresh and exotic fruits. On the palate, it offers a supple attack, a harmonious texture, lots of freshness, notes of lemon and white peach, and a persistent mineral finish: a perfect balance between freshness and roundness, signature of the House.
Another cuvée in blanc de blancs: the famous Dom Ruinart
Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs, prestige cuvée elaborated only during great vintages, comes exclusively from chardonnays from Grands Crus, mainly from the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims. Its vinification integrates foam formation under cork and long aging on laths (about ten years), bringing great complexity, notes of dried fruits, candied citrus fruits, white flowers and a refined minerality, with a silky texture and exceptional aging potential.
In this line, Ruinart also offers versions in magnum! This generous format allows more harmonious aging, preserving the finesse of bubbles and sublimating the aromas of citrus fruits, white fruits and flowers, ideal for great occasions and moments of sharing.
