The estate
Passionate about wine and terroirs, Michel Tardieu and his wife founded the Tardieu Laurent estate in 1996. Over the years, this estate has become an essential reference among the most beautiful wines in the Rhône Valley.
For two generations, this family estate has been enhancing the terroirs of emblematic appellations (Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Condrieu, Hermitage, Vacqueyras, Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage, etc.) through aromatic and delicate wines produced from a rigorous vinification.
The wine
Tardieu Laurent's Côte-Rôtie is made from vines that are 50 years old on average and planted on different terroirs (Landonne, Chavaroche, Côte de Rozier, Les Rochains, Lancement).
Vinification and ageing
An initial 12-month ageing period in barrels (new and second-fill) is followed by a further 10 months in tuns.
The blend
This 2016 Côte-Rôtie by Tardieu Laurent is a 100% Syrah.
The tasting
An aerial wine combining finesse and refinement, Tardieu Laurent's 2016 Côte-Rôtie reveals pleasant animal and empyreumatic notes.
