The vineyard
Riesling Bernkasteler Doctor Spätlese 1997 by Weingüter Wegeler comes from steep vineyards which overlook the Mosel, Germany's oldest winegrowing region, with soils composed of blueschist and slate.
Spread over 3.26 hectares, Bernkasteler Doctor is an iconic vineyard named after a tale in which the convalescent Archbishop Boemund II said, after tasting a wine from this vineyard,"This wine is the real doctor!".

This fine Mosel wine is one of the most famous Spätlese (late harvest wine) in Germany.
