Tasting
This vintage is marked by a refined tannic structure, supported by a refreshing vivacity.
The aromatic intensity and delicacy of a Pomerol red wine
The property
Located on the right bank of Bordeaux near the church of Pomerol, the Château du Domaine de L’Église is one of the oldest vineyards in the appellation.
The vineyard
The Château du Domaine de L’Église is a Pomerol red wine from a 7-hectare vineyard located in the centre of the famous appellation plateau.
The vintage
The bud burst is late due to alternating contrasting temperatures in March. If the humidity and spring heat favour a strong mildew pressure affecting part of the vineyard. The flowering is homogeneous, as is the fruit set. Warm, June is punctuated by significant rainy and stormy episodes before a dry and relatively cool July. The colour change is slow and progressive. The second half of August is marked by high temperatures causing a significant slowdown in maturities without any loss of aroma.
Blend
Merlot (98%)
Cabernet franc (2%).
