Description
The estate
Although the history of the Bichot family goes back to 1214, it was in 1350 that it was established in Burgundy. The trading house, created in Monthélie in 1831, through the incentive of Bernard Bichot, grew rapidly during the 19th century, becoming the official supplier to the Swedish Court. An independent family business, Albert Bichot is one of the great names that has left its mark on the wine industry and the influence of Burgundy wines. Today, the 6th generation has been running the company since 1996, harmoniously blending modernity and family tradition.
The vineyard
Today, the Albert Bichot House runs more than 100 hectares of vineyards, spread from the north to the south of Burgundy, and grouped into 6 prestigious estates: Domaine Long-Depaquit, in Chablis, in the Yonne, Domaine du Clos-Frantin and Château Gris, both located in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Domaine du Pavillon, in Pommard. Devoted to Mercurey wines, it was in 2013 that Domaine Adélie was bought by Albert Bichot. The estate is named after Albert Bichot's daughter, who was born in 2003, so continuing the family legacy to the next generation. The beautiful vineyard of Domaine de Rochegrès in the Moulin À Vent appellation was added to the family business in 2014.
