Description
The structure and elegance of an Italian wine from Piedmont
The estate
Founded in 1904 as a cooperative in Serralunga d'Alba, Prunotto experienced its true development in the 1920s thanks to Alfredo Prunotto. Located in the heart of Piedmont between Barbaresco and Barolo, the estate cultivates 65 hectares in the Langhe and the Roero. Owned by the Antinori family since 1994 under the direction of Albiera Antinori, Prunotto favors prestigious plots such as Bussia and Costamiòle, combining Piedmontese tradition with modern innovation.
The vineyard
This Langhe Nebbiolo comes from vineyards with soils composed of superficial sands, layered gravels, and strata of clay and limestone. This particular geological composition gives the wine its characteristic elegance and silky tannins.
Winemaking and aging
The grapes are destemmed and crushed upon arrival at the winery. The skin maceration lasts 7 days with a maximum temperature of 29°C. Malolactic fermentation is completed before winter, then the wine ages for about 16 months before bottling.
Grape variety
This Occhetti 2022 cuvée from Antinori - Prunotto is 100% nebbiolo.
