The Krug Champagne House was founded in 1843 by Joseph Krug, a visionary with great passion. It holds a unique library of over 150 reserve wines, some of which are over 15 years old.
With more than 250 different plots, including the prestigious Clos du Mesnil and the Clos d’Ambonnay, the Maison Krug owns a heritage of exceptional vineyards in Champagne.
Every year since its foundation, Krug unveils a new edition of its Grande Cuvée, in order to present the most generous expression of champagne.
This Krug Grande Cuvée 171st Edition is a blend of 131 wines from 12 different years. The youngest dates from 2015 and the oldest from 2000. The reserve wines from Krug's vast library make up 42% of the final blend, giving this edition a rare fullness and roundness. Resting for around seven years in the House cellars gives it its particular expression and elegance. Each glass contains the result of more than 20 years of in-depth expertise.
Pinot Noir (45%)
Pinot Meunier (18%).
The champagne is a beautiful pale gold colour. The effervescence is particularly fine.
The nose mingles delicious fragrances of flowers and ripe, preserved and dried citrus fruit with gourmet notes of marzipan and gingerbread.
Scents of marzipan, quince, lemon and limoncello combine harmoniously on the palate with subtle toasted and dried fruit notes.
