Chanson : Beaune 1er cru "Champimonts" Domaine 2012

Burgundy - Beaune - Red - 13.5° Chanson Chanson 2012 E295/12
  • Parker : 86
  • J. Robinson : 16,5

Domaine Chanson 2012 Beaune Premier Cru Champimonts is produced on a vineyard located on the southern hill of Beaune, and facing Est. The combination of great exposure and a clay-limestone yet very silty soil provide for the slow maturation of Pinot Noir, allowing the vintage to keep red fruit, cherry and raspberry aromas. The 2012 Beaune Premier Cru Champimonts is aged for 17 months in oak barrels. The wine features a seductive ruby colour, balance, and complexity. Rich, elegant, and deep flavours on the palate, the beautifully long finish is delectable.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2012 Beaune 1er Cru Champimonts (one of Beaune's finest premier crus in my opinion) has an outgoing bouquet with macerated dark cherries, violet and faint marmalade scents that are well-defined. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp, chewy tannins. There is a lot of substance here and I just feel that the wood protrudes a little on the austere finish. Drink 2016-2023.
