Description
The estate
Boasting origins that date back to ancient times and acquired in 1442 by Guillaume de Damian, Château Bas has been owned by Ficbal since 2020, a holding company belonging to the Castéja group from Bordeaux.
The vineyard
Produced in the Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence appellation, Château Bas watches over a 370-hectare terroir, that comprises 75 hectares of vines. The vineyard has been cultivated using organic farming practices since 2010 and is planted on clay and silt soils with a limestone subsoil.
Vinification and ageing
The harvested grapes are completely destemmed before undergoing direct pressing and alcoholic fermentation. In order to develop the aromatic potential, the wine is aged on fine lees until being bottled.
