Description
A silky and aromatic Margaux wine
The estate
Owned by the Guillement family since 1932, Château Boyd-Cantenac is one of the most consistent wines of the Margaux appellation. This 3rd Classified Growth of 1855 seduces those who love the fine wines of Margaux with its unique style, a testament to the estate’s unique know-how. Endowed with great ageing potential, the wines present an aromatic complexity specific to Margaux, while the palate is suave and refined.
The vintage
The mild winter and spring favoured early budding, as well as rapid and even growth of the vines. Marked by heavy rainfall, the months of April and May preceded a relatively cool month of June. The hot and particularly dry summer conditions made it possible to concentrate the skin / juice ratio of the small berries. The second half of August, marked by stormy days and cool nights, was followed by a sunny and dry September. The rain on the eve of the harvest made it possible to harvest fully ripe berries with a beautiful aromatic expression.
The blend
The Château Boyd-Cantenac 2020 is made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (71%), Merlot (18%), Petit Verdot (8%), Cabernet Franc (3%).
