This 9.78-hectare vineyard is situated in the town of Moulis-en-Médoc on the Left Bank of Bordeaux, where it is nestled in between Château Poujeaux and Château Chasse-Spleen. From the lieu-dit Grand Poujeaux, the blend is 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot. The wine has 14.5% alcohol and is aging in 60% new and 40% second year barrels. Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Branas Grand Poujeaux opens with scents of redcurrant jelly, fresh blackberries and ripe plums with hints of chocolate mint and spice cake. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is packed with vivacious red and black fruits, framed by rounded tannins and finishes spicy.
