The aromatic bouquet proves complex and expressive, releasing splendid aromas of black cherry, blackcurrant and raspberry. This fruity ensemble is subtly enhanced by notes of flowers, liquorice, smoke, as well as delicate touches of herbaceous spices, fine nougat and precious wood.
Palate
Harmonious, dense and full of energy, the palate offers a creamy, supple texture, underpinned by velvety, perfectly integrated tannins. Endowed with a radiant maturity and a luminous fruit, this wine stands out for its tender, delicately smooth profile, while retaining a beautiful tension and great elegance.

The elegance of a great growth from Saint-Estèphe in Bordeaux
The estate
Founded in 1811 by Louis-Gaspard d'Estournel, Château Cos d'Estournel is a historic property in Bordeaux stretching over around a hundred hectares. Recognised as a Second Cru Classé in 1855, this emblematic estate is renowned for its exotic architecture featuring majestic pagodas, inspired by its founder's travels. Michel Reybier has been the owner of this jewel since 2000. The property embodies the excellence of its appellation, combining a prestigious heritage with a forward-thinking vision to produce wines of exceptional quality, vintage after vintage.
The vineyard
Located in the northern Médoc, the vineyard enjoys a privileged position on the hill of Saint-Estèphe, at the edge of the plateau and close to the Gironde estuary. This rolling terroir, made up of two slopes and a central plateau, rests on soils of deep gravel and clay. The vines benefit from an oceanic climate that shields them from extreme weather conditions while ensuring natural ventilation. The estate is certified Haute Valeur Environnementale and ISO 14001.
The vintage
The year began with a dry winter followed by an early budburst. In spring, abundant rainfall in mid-April helped replenish the water reserves of the gravelly soils, before sunny weather encouraged a swift and even flowering. Summer was marked by intense heat in August, fortunately tempered by welcome rainfall at the end of the month, thus avoiding any water stress. These ideal conditions led to a particularly early harvest, beginning on 3 September, the earliest in several decades.
Winemaking and aging
Very early harvest. Vinification is carried out plot by plot in order to respect the unique expression of each terroir. The estate relies on an innovative cellar operating entirely by gravity, allowing extremely gentle handling of the berries, without the slightest mechanical intervention.
Grape varieties
This wine comes from a blend composed of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc.
