The property
Founded in 1811 by Louis-Gaspard d'Estournel, the Château Cos d'Estournel is an emblematic estate of Bordeaux, located in Saint-Estèphe. Spanning 91 hectares, the vineyard benefits from a unique terroir of gravel and limestone clay. Since 2000, Michel Reybier has been managing the property, combining audacity and humility. The Chinese pagodas and the gravity-fed cellar illustrate the innovative and adventurous spirit of the estate, classified Second Cru in 1855.
The vineyard
Located in the north of Médoc on the hill of Saint-Estèphe, the vineyard of Château Cos d'Estournel benefits from a privileged location near the Gironde estuary. This proximity gives it a maritime climate and ideal natural ventilation. The terroir consists of deep gravel and clay, structured around two hills and a central plateau. Part of the vineyard benefits from a southern exposure, with early ripening terroirs that contribute to the exceptional quality of the grapes. This 2024 vintage comes from vines averaging 55 years old.
Blend
Cabernet sauvignon (60%), merlot (38%), cabernet franc (1.5%) and petit verdot (0.5%).
