The property

Founded in 1811 by Louis-Gaspard d'Estournel, Château Cos d'Estournel is an emblematic estate of Bordeaux, located in Saint-Estèphe, in the Médoc. The vineyard extends over 91 hectares of gravelly and clay-limestone soils. Michel Reybier, owner since 2000, has modernized the estate with an innovative gravity-fed cellar. The exotic architecture, marked by pagodas, and the pioneering history of direct sales make Cos d'Estournel a unique "super-second", rivaling the first grands crus.

The vineyard

The vines of Pagodes de Cos flourish on the hill of Saint-Estèphe, near the Gironde estuary. This terroir benefits from a maritime climate offering ideal natural ventilation for the maturation of the grapes. The soils, composed of deep gravels and clay, extend over two slopes and a central plateau, creating optimal conditions for the development of the grape varieties.

The wine

Pagodes de Cos is the Second Wine of the property. 2024 celebrates the 30th anniversary of this cuvée which is adorned for the occasion with an engraved bottle.

Blend

Merlot (50%), cabernet sauvignon (43%), cabernet franc (5%) and petit verdot (2%).
