Description
2003 Barsac 1er Cru Classe
Chateau Coutet 38.5 hectares vineyard uses reasoned agriculture to manage the growth of vines averaging 40 years old. The 2003 Chateau Coutet is 80% Semillon, 18% Sauvignon Blanc, and 2% Muscadelle.
The wine displays a beautiful old gold hue. The nose exudes a very developed array of aromas: lemon zest, candied pineapple, quince paste, vanilla and honey all the while offering very neat mineral notes. The concentration is very appealing to the palate, revealing great botrytization. The 2003 Chateau Coutet reveals fleshy (almost voluptuous), distinguished, and strong texture on the mid palate. Retro-olfaction bring pleasant notes of honey, vanilla, gingerbread, dry fruits, as well as sharpness from citrus and candied pineapple flavours adding a little bit of freshness. The finish is tasty and balanced: rich and imposing offering with great quality.
