Description
2009 Barsac 1er Cru Classe
Chateau Coutet name refers to distinctive lively, fresh, tense and very unique style of the wines produced in the Barsac appellation -Coutet means "knife" in the Gascon dialect. The 2009 vintage is 75% Semillon, 23% Sauvignon Blanc, and 2% Muscadelle produced from exceptional terroir.
The wine displays a solid golden hue. The first nose exudes impressive rich aromas which combine beautifully botrytized notes (citrus, candied exotic fruits, honey) with more delicate, lightly spices hints: subtle and elegant. This complex offering pairs pleasant volume with appealing roundness. The palate offers candied fruits, brandied prunes, Mirabelle plum liquor as well as classic notes from maturation: blended vanilla, caramel, toffee, or even sweet spices and white pepper. The finish is expressive, powerful, warm, and carries beautiful length.
