Description
The 2015 Coutet is a Barsac produced during a year rightfully considered as one of the driest and most sunny year that the Bordeaux wine-growing region ever faced in 50 years. Nevertheless, one can notice that this 2015 distinguishes itself by its finesse and not by its concentration for dessert wines. The harvest took place in a homogeneous crop context, from September 15th to October 27th. The liqueur is rich, totally fresh and well-concentrated. The 2015 Coutet is a blend of 75% Semillon, 23% Sauvignon, and 2% Muscadelle. This yellow gold wine gives off clean and seductive notes of exotic fruit (pineapple and fresh mango) mixed with spicy hints of crispy ginger. On swirling are revealed fragrances of candied bitter orange with wild peach, contributing to the finesse and singularity of this vintage. The palate is precise, dynamic with a solid acidulous structure that guarantees freshness and balance opposing power and richness of the liqueur. This airy Barsac enjoys a good nervousness that comes from the typicity of the property soils. It is a remarkable, charismatic, worth-keeping Barsac.
