The estate
Caves D'Esclans is a winery-merchant set up by Sacha Lichine from Bordeaux, who also owns the famous Château d'Esclans in the Var. Caves d'Esclans identifies the best vines and grapes at Château d'Esclans, while also working with carefully selected local winegrowers. Its aim is to obtain the best quality grapes and wines, whatever the source of supply (producers or its own). As a result, close, privileged relationships have been developed with highly committed winegrowers, who promise to supply grapes from vines that have been worked to the same high standards that Château d'Esclans has set itself since 2006.
Winemaking and ageing
After hand-sorting and gentle pressing, only the best juices are selected. Some are fermented in vats and others in barrels. The blend of this Provence rosé varies according to the vintage, although there is little variation from one year to the next.
