A Vin de France with an Innovative Blend, Crafted Using the Solera Method
The Estate
Acquired in 1997 by Jean-Marie and Maine Guffens-Heynen, Château des Tourettes is located near Apt. It extends over approximately 15 to 17 hectares of vines at an altitude of 420 metres. Today, their daughter Marie manages the estate. From the moment of acquisition, Jean-Marie Guffens-Heynen entirely restructured the vineyard, planting grape varieties atypical for the region, which led the estate to produce wines classified as Vin de France.
The Vineyard
Tinus Solera 1622 is a Vin de France from the Château des Tourettes parcels located at an altitude of 420 metres. The vines benefit from limestone and clay soils, which give the wines a beautiful tension between aromatic richness and mineral freshness. The estate cultivates approximately 8 hectares of red grape varieties, including Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache. The harvest is carried out by hand, with rigorous sorting in the vineyard to select the finest berries.
The Blend
Tinus Solera 1622 represents a major innovation for the estate, as it is the first red wine crafted using the Solera method. This ancestral technique involves blending several vintages to create greater complexity. This blend brings together vintages from 2016 to 2022, combining the freshness of young wines with the sophistication of more mature ones.
Vinification and Ageing
Tinus Solera 1622 was created in 2016 in collaboration with the consulting oenologist Stéphane Derenoncourt. This cuvée is named Tinus in tribute to Jean-Marie Guffens-Heynen's grandfather, a farmer and miller in Flanders. It represents the pinnacle of the estate's production and is crafted exclusively from the free-run juice of the first pressing.
Grape Varieties
Syrah, Grenache, Marselan.
