Marks and reviews
Located in Barsac, Château Doisy-Daëne has belonged to the Dubourdieu family since 1924. Borne by three generations of winegrowers, this 1855 Second Cru Classé with its exceptional terroir produces Sauternes wines that are recognised as one of the finest wines in the Bordeaux region. Denis Dubourdieu has been at the head of the estate since 2000.
Château Doisy-Daëne is located on the Barsac plateau. This area is characterised by its unique geological formation. There is a thin layer of clayey sands called "the red sands of Barsac" which rest on limestone subsoils. This porous limestone helps to regulate the water supply by releasing the stored water to the vines during the winter. Therefore, the wines by Château Doisy-Daëne stand out due to their exceptional finesse.
Vinification and ageing
The grapes are harvested by hand and selected in successive selections. Vinification by plot. A pre-blend is carried out 3 months after the harvest. The wine is aged for approximately 12 months in barrels.
