Vertdevin

The nose is fresh and floral, with notes of rose and bud, and subtler hints of pepper, layered with touches of blackberry and a hint of crushed raspberry. The palate is fruity, offering freshness, juiciness, suppleness, indulgence, tension, and lovely energy. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry, fresh small red berries, and, more slightly, flowers/rose, combined with touches of fresh plum and fine hints of bay berry. Good length. A sappy finish.

R.S.

This is a beautifully aged Moulin-à-Vent that shines even in a cooler vintage. A smattering of ripe red fruit wafts from your glass along with black plum, dried cranberry and red raspberry. Firm tannins lead on the attack and dissolve into well-integrated, chalk-dusted red and black fruit.

Description

A Beaujolais that delights with richness and elegance

The estate

A veritable monument to wine, Château du Moulin-à-Vent has been located in the prestigious appellation of the same name in northern Beaujolais since 1732. Today, Château du Moulin-à-Vent has a history spanning more than 300 years, during which time three families have succeeded one another. Although their histories differ, they have all shared the same certainty: that of the pre-eminence of Moulin-à-Vent. Under the aegis of the Parinet family since 2009, Château du Moulin-à-Vent is now undergoing a remarkable renaissance thanks to the dedication of two daring innovators: Édouard Parinet and Brice Laffond. With their enthusiasm, curiosity and passion, the two men are producing exceptional wines that faithfully reflect the expression of the great terroirs of the Beaujolais region.

The vineyard

This Moulin-à-Vent appellation wine comes from plots located at the northern end of the Beaujolais region, on a mosaic of soils composed of gorrh, manganese and iron oxide. This cuvée is made from vines that are an average of 60 years old.
