Produced by the prestigious Grand Cru Classé of 1855 Château La Tour Carnet, the Château La Tour Carnet Rouge 2018 delivers the typicity of a great red wine from the Haut-Médoc appellation.
A very old property located on the left bank of the Bordeaux region, Château La Tour Carnet is, in fact, one of the oldest of the Médoc, with origins dating back to the 12th century. Vines have been cultivated on these terroirs since 1407.
A Grand Cru Classé of 1855 located in the town of Saint-Laurent Médoc, the Château La Tour Carnet estate expands over a vineyard of 176 hectares. The estate is planted with 55% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc.
Made from a blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, the Château La Tour Carnet 2018 seduces with an expression that reflects the identity of Haut-Médoc in a vintage bearing the signature of Bernard Magrez.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 la Tour Carnet features notes of warm black cherries, dark chocolate, star anise and garrigue over a core of blackcurrant cordial, black raspberries and black tea. Medium to full-bodied with a rock-solid frame of firm, grainy tannins, it has a muscular mid-palate and a refreshing herbal lift on the finish.
