The estate

Located in the heart of Libourne, Château Mazeyres is an emblematic property in the Pomerol appellation, on the right bank of Bordeaux. The estate boasts ancient origins that hark back to Roman times. Since 1992, Alain Moueix has been managing Château Mazeyres with talent and passion by providing his wealth of winegrowing expertise and know-how.

The vineyard

Château Mazeyres 2016 is a Pomerol wine that stems from a 25.57-hectare vineyard located in the heart of the appellation, on the western and southern terraces of the appellation with 3 different types of soil. There are fine clayey gravel soils, clayey sands and gravelly-sandy clays. The particularity of these soils gives the wines of Château Mazeyres a unique personality and a distinctive velvety mouthfeel. The vines are 30 years old on average.

Vinification and ageing

This wine is aged in barrels (30% new and 70% old) for 12 months.

The blend

Château Mazeyres 2016 comprises a blend of Merlot (90%), Cabernet Franc (6%) and Petit Verdot (4%).
