Description
A dense and iodised Baux-de-Provence rosé wine
The property
With its origins dating back more than two thousand years, Château Romanin was a highly spiritual place for the Greeks, the Gauls and the Christians.
Placed at the gateway to Les Baux-de-Provence, Château Romanin has since 2006 belonged to the Charmolüe family, former owners of Château Montrose, Second Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Estèphe.
The vineyard
Château Romanin 2022 is a Baux-de-Provence wine, stemming from a 58-hectare vineyard planted on sandy-stony to sandy-silty-clayey limestone soil on the northern slopes of the Alpilles massif. This biodynamic vineyard produces wines vinified and aged in an underground cellar covered with planted earth, which brings a harmony between the cultivation of the vines and the work in the cellar.
Winemaking and ageing
After being harvested by hand, the grapes were cooled in a cold room (10°C) for 24 hours. Following the settling of the must, the alcoholic fermentation was carried out in stainless steel vats, as was ageing on fine lees for about 5 months with regular stirring.
