Description

A rich and fine red wine from Saint-Julien

Château Talbot is a 4ème Cru Classé en 1855 produced in the Saint-Julien appellation. According to legend, the property owes its name to the Constable Talbot, a famous English general who lost the Battle of Castillon in 1453. Covering an area of 100 hectares, the vineyard benefits from vines aged 52 years on average, planted on Médoc gravel. The wine is aged in barrels, half of it in new barrels. The 2004 vintage features a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot.

The Château Talbot 2004 has a magnificent red colour, dark and bright, revealing a bouquet that combines density and complexity, developing intense fragrances of fruit, with subtle and delicate woody notes that make the nose harmonious. The palate is radiant, offering a magnificent juicy quality and incredible length. A richly constituted wine, full-bodied and fine.
