The Estate

Founded in 1988 by Anne-Françoise Gros, Domaine A.F. Gros is a key reference in Burgundy. Located in Pommard with historic roots in Vosne-Romanée, the estate spans approximately fourteen hectares. Today, the domaine is run by the new generation: Mathias Parent, general manager and winemaker, and his sister Caroline Parent, in charge of commercial management, under the watchful eye of their mother, the current president. Domaine A.F. Gros stands out for its intuitive and sustainable viticulture, respectful of the soil, seeking to express the purest identity of its terroirs without artifice.

The Vineyard

Clos Vougeot is the largest Grand Cru in the region, historically founded by Cistercian monks in 1098 and enclosed by stone walls. The grapes come specifically from the Grand Maupertui plot, ideally situated in the upper part of the vineyard. This terroir benefits from excellent drainage and consists of fine, highly calcareous and stony soils resting on a limestone bedrock, giving the wine remarkable mineral precision.

The Vintage

2024 proved particularly challenging, marked by significant disease pressure that led to a drastic drop in yields. However, the grapes that survived these difficult climatic conditions reached an exceptional level of concentration, imbuing the berries with sugars and intense aromatic compounds.

Winemaking and Ageing

The grapes are harvested by hand, with rigorous sorting both in the vineyard and on a vibrating sorting table. The berries are destemmed and partially vinified as whole clusters using indigenous yeasts. After spontaneous malolactic fermentation, this Clos Vougeot Grand Cru "Domaine" 2024 is aged for approximately 18 months in French oak barrels, half of which are new and the other half one-wine barrels, in order to preserve the brilliance of the terroir.
