Description
Characteristics and tasting tips for the Bourgogne Aligoté Doré "Sélection Massale" 2024 from Domaine Boris Champy
Tasting
Colour
The wine reveals a pale golden-yellow hue, enhanced by delicate greenish highlights. It stands out for its clarity and brilliance.
Nose
Remarkably precise, the nose offers a complex bouquet blending aromas of fresh, ripe citrus fruit (lemon, grapefruit, orange zest) with notes of green apple, plums and white flowers. The whole is lifted by subtle hints of herbs and nuts, along with a fine minerality reminiscent of chalk and salt.
Palate
The palate charms with its silky texture and a structure that is both sleek and precise. The lively acidity blends seamlessly with an intense, deep concentration. The wine lingers on a long, mouth-watering and poised finish, marked by a stony, saline minerality.
Food and wine pairings
Ideal as an aperitif, this wine pairs beautifully with a seafood platter, oysters or white fish with a touch of lemon. It is also a superb match for beech-smoked salmon, poultry in a cream sauce and mature cheeses such as goat's cheese or Comté.
Serving and cellaring
This Bourgogne Aligoté Doré "Sélection Massale" 2024 can be enjoyed now and will continue to gain in complexity until around 2029.

The estate
The story of Domaine Boris Champy began in 1984 under the leadership of Didier Montchovet, a pioneer of organic and biodynamic viticulture in Burgundy. Originally consisting of a single 0.5-hectare plot, the estate grew with a strong agroecological vision. In 2019, Boris Champy, the current owner, took over the entire property in Nantoux. Today, the vineyard covers 12 hectares certified by Ecocert and Demeter. The estate stands out for its deep commitment to biodiversity and to showcasing the high-altitude terroirs of the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune.
The vineyard
The grapes behind this Burgundy wine come from plots located more than 400 metres above sea level in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune. This distinctive terroir rests on a mosaic of soils made up of marl, clay and limestone. The vines, derived from old massal selections, are planted at high density and sometimes lyre-trained. The vineyard is farmed according to biodynamic principles, at the heart of a rich ecosystem that includes hedgerows, wildlife and sheep, and has never received any chemical inputs since it was replanted after phylloxera.
Winemaking and ageing
The grapes for the Bourgogne Aligoté Doré "Sélection Massale" 2024 are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness. Winemaking follows a minimal-intervention approach, using indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks and 228-litre oak barrels, with no new oak whatsoever. The wine then undergoes extended ageing on the lees for around 12 months, followed by a few months in tank before bottling.
Grape variety
100% Aligoté.
