Description
The refinement and balance of a Rhône Valley white wine
The estate
Located in the Rhône Valley, the Domaine Combier pays rigorous attention to its vineyard in total respect of the terroir. As early as 1969, Maurice Combier, a visionary, thus converted his vineyard to Organic Agriculture.
Laurent Combier, his son, accompanied by his wife, took over the estate in 1990 with the ambition to produce wines at the top of the Crozes-Hermitage appellation and reflecting with authenticity the expression of this exceptional terroir.
The wine
This white wine from Crozes-Hermitage is made from vineyards located between 90 and 120 meters altitude in the villages of Pont de l'Isère and Gervans. Managed organically for 30 years, this terroir rests on soils composed of clay, limestone and loess.
Vinification and aging
Manual harvest followed by a selective sorting. Fermentation in Burgundian barrels from 4 to 8 years before aging for 8 to 10 months in stainless steel tanks.
Blend
80% marsanne and 20% roussanne.
