Tasting notes
Nose
The bouquet opens with vibrant aromas of fresh red and black fruits. With a little aeration, delicate floral and earthy notes come through to enrich this olfactory palette.
Palate
The attack is juicy and supple, supported by a well-integrated tannic structure. The palate stands out for its lovely mineral tension, stretching into a delicate finish that retains all the energy of the fruit.
Food and wine pairing
This red wine pairs perfectly with red meats, roast poultry, or grilled fish. It also goes very well with herb-based cuisine, without overly rich sauces.
Service and storage
To fully appreciate this cuvée, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature between 15 and 18°C. This wine can be enjoyed now and will continue to evolve favorably over the next decade.
The authentic expression of Jura terroir by Domaine de la Borde
The estate
Founded in 2003 by Julien Mareschal, Domaine de la Borde quickly established itself as an essential reference in the Jura. Created from scratch on the magnificent terroirs of the Arbois-Pupillin appellation, the estate now spans around 5 hectares. A staunch advocate of environmentally friendly viticulture, the winemaker favors a biodynamic approach to express the full singularity and purity of his terroirs.
The vineyard
The vines flourish on the steep slopes of Pupillin, at an altitude of around 350 meters. This distinctive terroir is characterized by red marl soils dating back to the Triassic period. The vineyard is cultivated using natural methods, with preserved grass cover and mechanical soil work, thereby promoting local biodiversity. The harvest is carried out by hand.
The vintage
2024 was marked by particularly challenging climatic conditions in the region, with episodes of spring frost. These challenges impacted yields and required constant attention, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, to preserve the brightness of the fruit.
Grape variety
This cuvée is made from a blend of Pinot Noir and Trousseau.
