Description
The balance and structure of a white wine from Burgundy
The estate
The Domaine de la Vougeraie was established in 1999 with the ambition to bring together, under one domain, all the Premier Crus, Grand Crus and Monopoles progressively acquired by the Boisset family, wine merchants, since 1964. Advocating a viticulture that listens to its vineyard, the Domaine de la Vougeraie gives birth to cuvées that, through their precision, purity, elegance and aromatic richness, are recognized as prestigious Burgundy wines. The Domaine de la Vougeraie oversees a terroir of 34 hectares of vines spread over 67 plots.
The vineyard
"Le Clos Blanc de Vougeot" Monopole is a Vougeot wine 1er cru made from a plot of approximately 3.049 ha, located mid-slope on white clay-limestone soils.
The vintage
The 2023 vintage in Burgundy is distinguished by a generous harvest and optimal maturity of the grapes, despite sometimes unstable weather. After a spring punctuated by a few episodes of frost, the summer, both hot and dry, was tempered by timely rainfall, thus providing ideal conditions for a homogeneous maturation of the harvest. The result gives birth to an exceptional vintage, carried by a remarkable harmony between the fruit, freshness and structure. A promising balance that augurs a good aging potential.
Vinification and aging
Pressing in a pneumatic press with whole bunches for 2h30, then settling for 24h. Aging in barrels and stainless steel tanks.
