Description

Characteristics and tasting notes of the Domaine de Terrebrune 2024 Domaine de Terrebrune

Tasting notes

Colour
The colour reveals a pale pink hue enhanced by delicate salmon reflections.

Nose
The aromatic bouquet opens with notes of stone fruit, particularly white peach, intertwined with scents of garrigue and thyme. Subtle touches of exotic fruits such as passion fruit, persimmon and kaffir lime enrich this palette.

Palate
Generous and silky, the palate offers a beautifully rounded texture. It reveals citrus flavours, such as red grapefruit zest and lemon, followed by apricot and peach aromas. The whole is supported by a constant mineral thread that extends into a saline, thirst-quenching finish.

Food and wine pairing

This rosé wine pairs wonderfully with seafood, and particularly with fresh oysters. It also brilliantly accompanies summer salads, simply prepared white fish, delicate fresh cheeses, as well as vegetable-based or light poultry dishes.

Service and storage

The Domaine de Terrebrune 2024 reveals remarkable aging potential for a rosé. It can be enjoyed now, but will continue to develop favourably until around 2034.

Other characteristics

This wine has an alcohol content of 13.5%.

The mineral, saline elegance of a great Bandol rosé

The estate

Founded in 1963 by Georges Delille, Domaine de Terrebrune is a key reference of the Bandol appellation, in the south-east of France. After extensive restoration work on the terraces, the first vintage was released in 1980. Today, the estate is jointly run by Reynald Delille, the founder's son, and entrepreneur Jean d'Arthuys. The estate stands out for its deep commitment to organic farming and biodynamics. With its 35 hectares, Domaine de Terrebrune produces wines renowned for their exceptional minerality, faithfully reflecting the unique identity of its Mediterranean terroir.

The vineyard

Located in the commune of Ollioules, to the east of the Bandol appellation, the vineyard benefits from a natural amphitheatre formed by the Mediterranean Sea and the Gros-Cerveau mountain. The vines, with an average age of 10 years for this cuvée, are planted on traditional restanques. The terroir is characterised by a unique Triassic soil, composed of fractured limestone pebbles, brown clay and marl. Fully certified organic and farmed according to biodynamic principles, the vineyard benefits from mechanical ploughing, natural weeding by sheep in winter, and a refreshing maritime influence.

The vintage

The year 2024 was marked by a notable rainfall deficit in the region, leading to water stress that required careful vine management. Despite this drought, the summer season offered moderate, mild temperatures. This absence of excessive heat allowed the grapes to ripen under optimal conditions, thus preserving all their freshness and aromatic complexity.

Winemaking and aging

The harvest is carried out entirely by hand, with rigorous sorting done directly in the vineyard. To craft the Domaine de Terrebrune 2024, the process combines equal parts saignée and direct pressing techniques. The wine is then aged for 6 to 8 months in stainless steel tanks before bottling, a technical choice that preserves the freshness and purity of the aromas.

Grape varieties

This wine is made from a blend of Mourvèdre (50%), Grenache (25%) and Cinsault (25%).
