Description
A rosé with freshness and aromas from Domaine des Campaux
From the oldest vines in the Domaine des Campaux with excellent quality wines, the OséRose 2017 cuvee offers an intense and refined expression that only the best terroirs of Provence know how to convey into their wines.
Produced in A.O.C Cotes de Provence, the OséRose 2017 vintage blend expresses all the typicality of the terroirs of Provence that consists of 75% Grenache and 25% Syrah.
With its beginnings in 1934 in the heart of the Mole valley in the Massif des Maures, near Saint-Tropez in the Var in Provence, the Naveau family runs the Domaine des Campaux vineyard using a rigorous and respectful approach towards the environment. They favour the use of grass management between the rows of vines, and mechanical work without herbicides.
From the vineyard to bottling, Domaine des Campaux follows a rigorous process of production and vinification. To preserve the freshness and aromatic expression of the berries, the grapes are harvested at night and pressed directly. The juices then go through a cold settling before they are fermented at a low temperature. The wines are aged on lees after racking. To guarantee the freshness of the rosé, the wine is bottled as the season progresses.
At tasting, the 2017 OséRose cuvee has a very pale, crystal colour with brilliant gold highlights. The nose offers intense aromas marked with lychee notes and iris floral scents. Stone fruit like peachy aromas are highlighted with ample freshness from raspberries. On the palate, there is a beautiful, ample, round structure that is enhanced by the spicy freshness of green pepper notes to give a nice balance. A pleasurable rosé that makes the perfect pairing for any summer meal.
