The estate

In the heart of the Côte de Beaune, the Domaine du Château de Meursault is one of the legendary winemaking estates of Burgundy. Having borne witness to over 1,000 years of history, the Château de Meursault is a true jewel in Burgundy, now owned by the Halley family.

The vineyard

The Domaine du Château de Meursault oversees an exceptional vineyard in Burgundy, spread across 65 hectares, from Puligny-Montrachet to Aloxe-Corton.

The wine

"Chaillot" 2022 is a wine from Ladoix Village that stems from a new plot, which has belonged to the estate since the 2018 vintage, resting on a soil made up of chert.

Winemaking and ageing

The bunches were sorted then destemmed. The grapes were then given optical sorting to only keep those of the best quality. Pre-fermentation cold maceration then alcoholic fermentation accompanied by punching down and pumping over. Ageing for 15 to 18 months in new (33%) casks and casks of one or two wines.

Tasting

Nose
The nose releases scents of fresh red fruit (redcurrant, strawberry).

Palate
Elegant and graced with a nice length, the palate entices with its supple and melting tannins.

Storage

This Burgundy wine can be laid down until about 2029.

This red wine pairs marvellously with a piece of beef, a paté en croûte or veal Orloff.
