A full and long-lasting Saint-Péray from Domaine du Tunnel
The estate
Founded in 1994 by Stéphane Robert and his wife Sandrine, Domaine du Tunnel now covers 12 hectares in the northern Rhône Valley. Based in the Ardèche, the estate produces wines from the Cornas, Saint-Péray, Saint-Joseph and Condrieu appellations. Stéphane Robert, who trained with Jean-Louis Grippat and Bernard Gripa, manages the estate with great care. The estate owes its name to an old railway tunnel converted into an aging cellar in 2014. Recognized by the RVF and Hachette wine guides, it stands out for wines of remarkable purity that precisely express the minerality of the Rhône's granite soils.
The vineyard
This Saint-Péray wine stems from a blend of several plots in the municipality, specifically the Barras and Les Grandes Blaches localities. These terroirs allow the Roussanne grape variety to fully express itself.
The vintage
Winemaking and aging
The vinification of the Roussanne 2023 begins in stainless steel tanks until the start of alcoholic fermentation. The wine then benefits from 10 months of aging in barrels, which brings complexity and structure to the whole.
Grape variety
This Rhône Valley wine is 100% Roussanne.
