The estate
Historically established since 1825 in Nuits-Saint-Georges at the heart of the Côte de Nuits, the Faiveley family heads one of the finest estates in Burgundy. Since 2005, the seventh generation of the family has ensured the continuity of this Burgundian gem, embodied by two passionate figures: Erwan Faiveley and his sister, Eve Faiveley. With a vineyard of over 120 hectares, Domaine Faiveley is one of the largest and most prestigious in Burgundy. At the helm of exceptional Grand Cru and Premier Cru plots, the Faiveley family enjoys a remarkable winegrowing heritage.
The vineyard
While Domaine Faiveley was historically rooted in the Côtes de Nuits at Nuits-Saint-Georges, the estate gradually expanded its vineyards into the Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise. Domaine Faiveley now owns 12 Grands Crus and 25 Premiers Crus in Bourgogne and oversees an exceptional winegrowing heritage.
The wine
This “Marnes Blanches” cuvée is a Ladoix Village wine from a plot acquired by the family in 1995. Located in a valley and facing north-northeast, this marl and limestone soil encourages slow ripening, ideal for white wines. Initially planted with Pinot Noir and after successful trials in 2007 on 0.4 hectares, Erwan decided in 2013 to replant the vineyard with Chardonnay. This 3.19-hectare vineyard now extends over three lieux-dits, including Les Marnées and La Blancharde, and represents the estate’s largest planting.
Grape variety
100% Chardonnay.
