Description
A full-bodied and highly refined Burgundy Premier Cru
The estate
Located in Nuits-Saint-Georges since 1825, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, the Domaine Faiveley is among the most renowned estates in Burgundy. Since 2005, the seventh generation, represented by Erwan and Eve Faiveley, has passionately continued the family tradition. With a vineyard of more than 120 hectares, the estate is distinguished by its size and prestige, boasting remarkable plots in Grands Crus and Premiers Crus.
The vineyard
Originally based in Côte de Nuits, Domaine Faiveley has gradually expanded its vineyard into Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise. It now holds 12 Grands Crus and 25 Premiers Crus of Bourgogne, an exceptional heritage. The "Champ Gain" plot, covering 10 hectares, is located just below "La Garenne," on the heights of the wine-growing coast. Its name refers to the "gain of land from the forest." Domaine Faiveley has owned it since 2014.
Vinification and aging
The grapes, harvested by hand, ferment for 4 weeks in French oak barrels, 50 to 60% of which are new. The aging then continues for 17 to 18 months in the estate's historic vaulted cellars, dating from the 19th century.
Grape variety
100% Chardonnay
