Description
The intensity and softness of an IGP Côtes Catalanes white wine
The estate
Located 20 kilometres northwest of Perpignan, Domaine Gauby is an unmissable name in Roussillon wines. With a surface area of around 85 hectares, the estate's terroir is made up of 45 hectares of vines, some of which are over a hundred years old, as well as 40 hectares of meadows, oak forests and scrubland. Situated at an altitude of between 150 and 200 metres and overlooking the sea, the vines benefit from a wild, arid and steep environment, favouring deep rooting in soils composed of limestone, marl and schist.
Concerned about preserving its environment, this Roussillon estate manages its vineyard without chemical and synthetic products in favour of natural products (plants, essential oils, compost, etc.). Preserving the natural balance is the key word both in the vineyard and during vinification, with the aim to bring out the quintessence of the terroirs and produce wines combining elegance and freshness.
