Desert scrubland, stone walls, the Tramontana wind... the Clos des Fées estate is home to what is truly a poetic terroir. The story of Domaine du Clos des Fées begins in 1997.
Voted Best Young Sommelier of France at the age of 21, restaurateur and writer Hervé Bizeul fell in love with these magical landscapes, nestled in the majestic Vingrau, at the foot of the Eastern Pyrenees, near the Mediterranean Sea, in the region of Roussillon.
Following the call of the land and his great passion for the vine, Hervé Bizeul decided to establish with his wife Claudine the Clos des Fées estate. After its debut vintage in 1998, Clos des Fées experienced a meteoric rise in demand.
Today, the Clos des Fées estate is one of the most prestigious in Languedoc-Roussillon, producing iconic wines like La Petite Sibérie, which takes its name from an area tormented by cold winds.
Spread over 30 hectares of vines, divided into 112 plots, the Clos des Fées estates reigns over an exceptional terroir, a true mosaic of soils that form a singular geological ensemble.
The sustainably managed, very old vines of the Clos des Fées estate boast an extraordinary wine-making heritage. Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre, the perfect blend of terroir and vine results in exceptional wines that express the singularity of their place of origin.
Displaying an exceptional aromatic richness, a great power and structure, the wines of the Clos des Fées estate seduce with their intensity, their harmony and their depth, often presenting a great capacity to age. Simply put: a must-try reference from Roussillon.
