Description
Characteristics and tasting notes for the La Voûte Saint Vincent 2024 Domaine Louis Claude Desvignes
Tasting notes
Colour
This vin de France reveals a beautiful red colour.
Nose
The bouquet reveals great elegance, exuding aromas of fresh red fruits such as strawberry, raspberry and cherry, nuanced by touches of plum. With aeration, delicate floral notes of iris and violet emerge, followed by a minerality reminiscent of graphite.
Palate
Beautifully refined, the palate opens with refreshing acidity and red fruit flavours. The texture is silky and perfectly balanced, supported by delicate tannins. The finish, with lovely persistence, lingers on spicy, fruity and mineral notes.
Food and wine pairing
This cuvée pairs wonderfully with braised meats such as osso buco, dishes in tomato-based sauces or with Mediterranean herbs. It will also pair very well with a warm gizzard salad, a beef fondue bourguignonne, or white meats such as veal blanquette or roast poultry.
Service and storage
For optimal enjoyment, it is recommended to serve the La Voûte Saint Vincent 2024 at a temperature between 14 and 16°C, taking care to open the bottle about thirty minutes to an hour before serving. This wine can be enjoyed now, but it will continue to evolve favourably until around 2030.
Other characteristics
This red wine has an alcohol content of 12.5%.
The authentic and fruity expression of a great Morgon wine
The estate
Formally established in 1712 in the heart of the village of Villié-Morgon, Domaine Louis Claude Desvignes is a true institution of Beaujolais. Representing the eighth generation, Claude-Emmanuelle and Louis-Benoît Desvignes are now at the helm of the estate. Heirs to a long family tradition, they carry on their father's philosophy by rejecting fleeting trends in favour of an approach that respects the terroir. Certified organic, the estate stands out for its traditional winemaking and its heritage of old vines, producing wines of remarkable authenticity.
The vineyard
This wine comes from plots located in the Douby climat, within the Morgon appellation. Covering an area of 4.5 hectares, this terroir benefits from an eastern exposure. The vines, averaging 45 years of age, thrive on particularly well-drained soils, composed of decomposed granite, locally known as "roches pourries", and covered by a sandy surface layer. The vineyard is fully ploughed and cultivated according to organic farming principles, with no synthetic chemical treatments.
Winemaking and aging
Following entirely hand-picked harvests and a rigorous double sorting, the La Voûte Saint Vincent 2024 is vinified using traditional methods. The grapes are 50% destemmed, retaining half whole clusters. Fermentation takes place in closed concrete vats, with a maceration period of 10 to 12 days during which the cap is kept submerged beneath the juice. Aging then continues exclusively in concrete vats for 7 to 9 months, with no oak ageing whatsoever, before a light non-sterile filtration at bottling.
