Description
Characteristics and Tasting Tips for Sutta Rocca 2025 from Domaine Simon-Paul Canarelli
Tasting
Colour
The colour is a deep ruby red, with violet highlights.
Nose
Expressive, the nose opens with aromas of black cherry, blackberry and raspberry. With aeration, it evolves towards notes of maquis scrub and black pepper, accompanied by a subtle smoky touch.
Palate
The attack is supple, then the palate reveals a generous, juicy and structured texture. Precise black fruit is supported by fine tannins and a lovely freshness that avoids any heaviness. The long, lightly spiced finish leaves a well-controlled sensation of warmth.
Food and Wine Pairing
This red wine pairs well with roast veal chop, Corsican charcuterie or grilled vegetables. It also goes well more broadly with roasted meats and Mediterranean cuisine.
A sun-drenched, fresh red wine from Corsica, IGP Île de Beauté, crafted by Domaine Simon-Paul Canarelli
The Estate
Domaine Simon-Paul Canarelli is located in Bonifacio, in southern Corsica. Its owner, Simon-Paul Canarelli, is also the winemaker at Clos Canarelli, his father Yves's estate. He farms a walled vineyard on a limestone plateau facing the sea, and champions native Corsican grape varieties.
