Description
A Barbera d'Alba wine with a seductive intensity and balance
The estate
The origins of this Piedmontese estate date back to 1977 when the young Domenico Clerico acquired a small plot of vines in Bussia, a superb cru located in the village of Monforte d'Alba. Subsequently, the Domenico Clerico estate gradually grew its vineyard to 21 hectares located in the prestigious terroirs of the Barolo appellation, in Piedmont, northern Italy. Oscar Arrivabene and Giulana Clerico, now at the head of the estate, continue the tradition of making fine wines that boast a rare precision and aromatic richness.
The vineyard
Produced since 1989, Trevigne de Domenico Clerico is a Barbera d'Alba wine that stems from 3 terroirs located within Monforte d'Alba. The vines enjoy a western, north-eastern and southern exposure.
Vinification and ageing
The grapes are harvested when perfectly ripe and undergo a maceration process that favours the extraction while preserving the natural freshness of the fruit. The wine is aged in oak barrels.
