Description
Characteristics and tasting notes for Mémé Marie 2022 François Rousset Martin
Tasting
Nose
The aromatic bouquet reveals delicate floral notes, accompanied by scents of yellow lemon zest and subtle smoky touches. A fine complexity emerges through aromas of dried fruits, citrus and aromatic herbs.
Palate
The palate offers a superb balance between a rich texture and the vivacity of lemon zest, all underlined by smoky nuances and a delicate saline touch. Remarkably fresh, this wine displays a striking complexity that extends into an exceptionally persistent finish.
Food and wine pairing
This cuvée pairs beautifully with poultry, duck or feathered game. It also enhances delicate fish served with a butter or herb sauce, as well as dishes based on cream and mushrooms. Finally, it creates a perfect harmony with regional cheeses, particularly a matured Comté, and can equally be enjoyed on its own as an aperitif.
Service and storage
This Mémé Marie 2022 shows excellent potential for evolution. It can be enjoyed in its youth but will continue to gain complexity, remaining enjoyable until at least 2029.
Other characteristics
To preserve its full authenticity and natural expression, this wine is bottled without any fining or filtration.
The balance and aromatic richness of a great white wine from the Côtes du Jura
The estate
Located in Nevy-sur-Seille, in the heart of the Vallée des Reculées in the Jura, the estate was officially founded in 2007. Now at the helm of the property, François Rousset Martin embodies the new generation of winemakers in the region. Drawing on his experience in Burgundy and his attachment to family traditions, he cultivates a vineyard of around ten hectares, certified organic. His approach is distinguished by a desire to showcase each terroir through meticulous parcel-by-parcel vinification and minimal intervention in the cellar, placing his cuvées among the most sought-after.
The vineyard
This wine from the Côtes du Jura comes from two plots located in the commune of Lavigny, representing a total surface area of 0.7 hectares. The vines, averaging around forty years old, thrive on soils typical of the region, composed of grey and white marls. The entire vineyard is cultivated according to organic farming principles, and harvesting is done by hand to ensure a rigorous selection of grapes.
The vintage
The year 2022 offered very favourable weather conditions in the region. Adequate sunshine allowed the berries to reach optimal ripeness without suffering excessive heat stress. This fine season thus favoured fruit development while preserving a lovely freshness and vibrant acidity throughout the growing cycle.
Winemaking and aging
The winemaking of this Mémé Marie 2022 is carried out with particular care, using methods adapted to each variety. The Chardonnay is vinified using the ouillé method, without oxidation, while the Savagnin undergoes ageing under a veil of yeast for three months. After this period, the two wines are blended and then aged together in stainless steel tanks for eleven months before bottling.
Grape varieties
This wine is a blend of Chardonnay (85%) and Savagnin (15%).
