Nose
The nose is subtle, led by notes of cherry, together with nuances of red and black fruit and touches of flowers and spice.
Palate

La Triote 2023, a Côte-Rôtie from Domaine Garon Balancing Structure and Elegance
The Estate
Based in Ampuis, in the heart of the Rhône Valley, Domaine Garon is now run by brothers Kévin and Fabien Garon. Rooted in a long family winemaking tradition, the estate took its present form in the early 2000s, with an activity that has grown steadily. It now owns an extensive vineyard spread across several Rhône appellations, with a range built around the region's leading crus, such as Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu and Saint-Joseph, as well as other northern Rhône terroirs.
The Vineyard
The vines used for La Triote are planted on the steep slopes of the Côte-Rôtie appellation, in Ampuis, where the sharp gradients and favourable exposures allow Syrah to reach optimal ripeness. They grow in predominantly schistous soils, typical of the area, which contribute to the finesse of the tannins and the spicy dimension of the wine. Vineyard management aims at controlling yields and respecting the terroir, in order to preserve the expression of the place of origin.
Vinification and Ageing
The grapes for La Triote 2023 are hand-harvested, then vinified in a way that respects the integrity of the Syrah and the expression of the terroir. Fermentation takes place in tanks, with controlled extraction to preserve the balance between structure and freshness. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels for an extended period before bottling, in order to refine the tannins and harmonise the wine's aromatic profile.
Grape Variety
La Triote 2023 is made from Syrah, the emblematic grape variety of Domaine Garon's red cuvées in Côte-Rôtie.
