Description
Characteristics and Tasting Tips for the Chassagne-Montrachet Village 2025 Jean-Charles Fagot
Tasting
Colour
This wine displays a pale yellow hue with subtle golden highlights, typical of Chardonnays from the Côte de Beaune.
Nose
The nose unveils a palette of white fruit and fresh citrus, complemented by delicate notes of brioche and white flowers, inherited from careful ageing in large oak foudres.
Palate
The palate is full and mineral, supported by a well-integrated acidity that brings freshness and tension. The silky, precise texture carries through to a saline, persistent finish, in the image of the great Chardonnays of the village.
Food and Wine Pairing
This wine is ideally suited to grilled or roasted prime fish, shellfish such as langoustines or crayfish in sauce, and poultry prepared in a creamy sauce. It also pairs very well with aged goat's cheeses or seasonal vegetable dishes enlivened with fresh herbs.
Serving and Cellaring
The Chassagne-Montrachet Village 2025 is ideally served between 11 and 13°C. Light decanting can help its aromas open up fully while the wine is young.

The estate
Based in Corpeau, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, the Fagot family has been cultivating vines since 1860. Now run by Jean-Charles Fagot, representing the 3rd generation, the estate covers approximately 3 hectares, complemented by a négoce-élevage activity. He farms his vines using sustainable, reasoned practices (lutte raisonnée) and harvests by hand. His particularity: he is also the innkeeper of the Auberge du Vieux Vigneron in Corpeau, where his wines naturally find their place at the table.
The vineyard
The Chassagne-Montrachet Village 2025 comes from vines located in the village of Chassagne-Montrachet, in close proximity to Corpeau, where the estate is based. The limestone soils, typical of this part of the Côte de Beaune, favour the expression of Chardonnay and give the wines a pronounced minerality. The vineyard is farmed using reasoned practices, with particular attention paid to soil life and biodiversity, and the grapes are harvested by hand.
Winemaking and ageing
The Chassagne-Montrachet Village 2025 benefits from traditional winemaking, in which the grapes are gently pressed to preserve the purity of the fruit. Ageing takes place in large oak foudres, a technical choice that allows a more transparent expression of the terroir while lending the wine a silky texture.
Grape variety
100% Chardonnay.
