The 2020 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Murgers des Dents de Chien is also very charming in style, bursting with aromas of pear, peach, white flowers and blanched almonds, followed by a medium to full-bodied, lively and open-knit palate that concludes with a mouthwatering finish.

Bright lemony fruit, but also a lovely density and length. Well done. The domaine owns a half-hectare here, in arguably one of the best premier crus in St-Aubin. The grapes are refrigerated and then pressed - sometimes after a light crushing - with the press cycle lasting more than two hours, being rolled once or twice. The must is run into cask without too many lees and bâtonnage is avoided.

This climat, with a name that’s tricky to pronounce, is just a stone’s throw from the great Montrachet, but its fluid, sleek and very pure style is closer to Chevalier-Montrachet, a little farther on, with a lighter feel. This 2020 is a real success—this climat is well worth discovering.
