An exceptionally dense Château Grenouilles wine from La Chablisienne

The Château Grenouilles of La Chablisienne is a single-varietal Chardonnay white wine produced in the Chablis Grand Cru appellation. Aged 40 years on average, the vines are planted in middle and upper Kimmeridgian soils, alternating limestone and marl with Exogyra virgula. The most renowned cuvée, of La Chablisienne, the Château Grenouilles is aged on fine lees in tanks and barrels for an average of 20 months.

The Chablis Grand Cru Château Grenouilles 2013 from La Chablisienne displays a pretty light yellow colour with silvery reflections, clear and brilliant. The nose first offers aromas of flowers, revealing after swirling fresh and subtle mineral notes. It combines elegance and density. Extremely well balanced in the mouth, combining beautiful aromatic freshness, great minerality and acidity, the wine shows an incredible density before a very long finish.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2013 Chablis Grand Cru Château Grenouilles has a clean and precise, chalky nose that needs a little encouragement from the glass. The palate is well balanced with a fine line of acidity, just a dab of lemongrass lending tension but perhaps missing the vigour of La Chablisienne's other, generally very commendable Grand Crus. Drink over the next decade.
