Description
The precision and aromatic richness of a Chablis wine
The estate
Founded in Burgundy in 1923, La Chablisienne is the biggest producer of Chablis wines, as well as one of the most renowned winemaking cooperatives in France.
The vineyard
The 2018 Chablis Village Les Vénérables by La Chablisienne is made from vineyards spread throughout the appellation. The vines, which are around 50 years old, are planted on clay-limestone soils from the Kimmeridgian.
Winemaking and ageing
Cold static settling before starting fermentation. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations are carried out in vats. Ageing lasts for 12 months on fine lees and in tanks and barrels.
Blend
The 2018 Chablis Village Les Vénérables by La Chablisienne is 100% Chardonnay.
Tasting
Colour
The wine is a clear and bright white-gold colour.
Nose
The first nose mixes fragrances of very ripe white fruits with a woody, subtly vanilla touch with a beautiful freshness. The wine increases in complexity at aeration through a refreshing minerality and a rare persistence.
Palate
With a saline and mineral attack, the palate seduces with its structure as well as its ample and precise fruit. The smooth and mineral finish is beautifully persistent.
