Ideal for accompanying refined cuisine, this wine beautifully complements a fine matured beef rib. Its power and natural freshness also allow it to pair wonderfully with noble meats or subtly spiced dishes.

The excellence of a great Hermitage terroir by Les Alexandrins
The estate
Founded in 2009, Maison & Domaines Les Alexandrins is the result of an exceptional partnership between three emblematic figures of the Rhône Valley: Nicolas Jaboulet, Guillaume Sorrel and Alexandre Caso. Now led by this passionate trio, with Nicolas Jaboulet as owner and central figure, the estate is based in Tain-l'Hermitage, France. Committed to organic viticulture from the outset, the domaine stands out for its meticulous plot-by-plot approach and the preservation of very old vines. This philosophy makes it possible to create wines that combine classicism and modernity, reflecting the quintessence of Rhône terroirs.
The vineyard
The grapes used for this cuvée come from three distinct and complementary terroirs within the Hermitage appellation. The blend relies mainly on the Les Greffieux sector (60%), whose rolled pebble soils bring aromatic richness and structure. The Grandes Vignes plot (30%), dominated by granite, gives the wine its minerality and tannic framework. Finally, the limestone soils of Le Muret (10%) complete the whole, lending it a touch of finesse and elegance.
Winemaking and aging
The making of this Hermitage Maison 2022 begins with a cold pre-fermentation maceration. The vatting period lasts 28 days, marked by pumping-over at the start of the process, followed by punching-down at the end of fermentation to gently extract the material. The wine then undergoes careful aging for 15 months in barrels, 30% of which are new oak and 70% of which have previously held one wine, allowing the tannins to soften while preserving the brightness of the fruit.
