Description
A great white Burgundy wine with ample body and beautiful freshness
The estate
Founded in 1859, the Maison Louis Jadot is one of the iconic houses of Burgundy. The family adventure began in 1826 with the purchase of the famous Beaune Premier Cru "Clos des Ursules". Owner of prestigious vineyards, Louis Jadot perpetuates a know-how passed down from generation to generation, thus offering the best of Burgundy to all enthusiasts.
Since September 2022, Thomas Seiter (formerly of Bouchard Père et Fils) has taken over the presidency of the house, with Thibault Gagey as general manager, succeeding Pierre-Henry Gagey.
The vineyard
The Meursault 1er Cru "Les Charmes" Domaine Louis Jadot comes from an east-facing vineyard, planted on brown limestone soils, conducive to the flourishing of Chardonnay.
Vinification and aging
The grapes, hand-harvested, are gently pressed before fermentation in oak barrels from the estate's cooperage (of which one-third are new barrels). Aging lasts about 15 months on fine lees, to bring complexity and depth to the wine.
Grape variety
100% Chardonnay.
