The palate is ample and generous, echoing the almond and vanilla aromas, elevated by a subtle hint of roasting. The finish is fresh and long, bringing great elegance to the tasting experience.

A white Burgundy Grand Cru that is both ample and remarkably precise

The estate

The Louis Latour estate, a benchmark in Burgundy, boasts over two centuries of winemaking history. Its 50-hectare vineyard spans the most prestigious terroirs, in both Premier and Grand Crus, from the Côte de Beaune to the Côte de Nuits. It produces a vast range of wines from 130 appellations, each expressing the richness of its terroir with accuracy and refinement. Since 1996, the estate has embraced a responsible and environmentally respectful approach to viticulture.

The vineyard

This Grand Cru, made from a single grape variety, Chardonnay, comes from the Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet appellation, established in 1937 and named after the “craie” (chalk), characteristic of its limestone terroir. The Louis Latour plot, located in Chassagne-Montrachet, is part of the appellation’s 1.57 hectares and benefits from soils composed of scree over limestone subsoils, gravel, and sometimes clay.

Vinification and aging

The harvest is done by hand. Traditional fermentation takes place in oak barrels from the estate’s cooperage, followed by full malolactic fermentation and aging for 8 to 10 months in new oak barrels.
